About Us

About Us – Warrington LIFE provides people in Warrington with Careers Advice and Guidance as well as information on learning, work opportunities, and training.

This is our ‘About Us’ page, which describes what we do. Our service is responsible for helping young people to remain in education until they are 18. This can be in full time education, an apprenticeship, or a job (with training).

Our services are in accordance with the new GDPR privacy law that has gone into place on the 25th of May 2018. These laws are very restrictive of what companies can have on you in regards to information and data. This is to protect individuals rights when it comes to their own personal data inside and outside of the EU.

The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the EU. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims  to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. We have also laid out our own Privacy Notice for our services.

We have qualified staff who can help you to:

  • Find the right course or training opportunity by providing careers guidance

  • Find an apprenticeship or job with training

  • Write a CV, complete application forms and prepare for interviews

  • Search for local job vacancies and provide you with tips on how to find a job

  • Access information about welfare support, benefits and any available grants

It is a legal requirement for every local authority to gather and collate information on young people’s destinations, to find out if they are in work or are seeking work, or if they are in education or training.

'Local authorities are responsible for tracking young people’s participation in education and training. They record information about young people's current activity, their characteristics and aspirations. This provides them with the information they need to support young people to engage in education and training, identify those who are not participating and to plan services to meet young people’s needs.'
